Because no child should be without hope . . .
Supporters of Life Resources took part in the agency's 13th
Annual Charity Golf Tournament held at LeBaron Hills Country Club in Lakeville,
MA on June 10, 2010. Over sixty golfers gathered to enjoy a round of golf
and dinner, to honor Fr. J. Bryan Hehir, and at the same time to offer hope
to the most troubled kids in our society.
Fr. J. Bryan Hehir was honored at this event with Life Resource's second Dedicated Service to Children Award. Fr. Hehir is a Professor at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and also the Secretary for Health and Social Services for the Archdiocese of Boston. Prior to assuming these positions Father Hehir served as President and CEO of Catholic Charities USA, the national network of Charities in the United States, from 2001 through 2003. Additionally, he serves as the Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for Life Resources, Inc.
Fr. Hehir gave an inspirational talk to the participants and
detailed the importance of grace and giving a second chance, especially related
to the at-risk youth we serve.
John Fisher, Life Resources Co-Chair and John Kennedy, last year’s award recipient presented the award to Fr. Hehir, recognizing him that he is a man who not only believes that no child should be without hope, but acts on that belief every day.
